We are looking for an individual who can help us improve current systems, streamline processes, identify new areas of efficiency, to both select and implement new technologies — all in service of providing nutritious food to those who need it most in our community.

Reporting to the Director of IT, the Business Systems Analyst and Project Manager (BSA-PM) role is an ideal opportunity for a collaborative individual interested in bringing fresh solutions to business problems. The role will work with a variety of systems, some specific to individual teams with other having enterprise wide impact.  Depending on the initiative, work may be focused on BSA, on PM, or on the full process of going from requirements through to deployment. The BSA-PM will partner with internal business and functional owners to assess systems, document needs, identify and implement long-term solutions, and strategize ways to prepare our systems to meet future demands — all while providing top-notch customer service and communication to stakeholders along the way. For example, you might spend your days:

Business Systems Analyst Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements by conducting interviews, reviewing documents, observing processes, analyzing business objectives, and conducting group workshops.
  • Document and evaluate requirements from multiple sources.
  • Apply analysis and critical thinking to identify cross team conflicts, root needs and potential areas to improve organizational efficiency.
  • Produce reports and analysis such as: Business Requirements, Functional Requirements, Process and Data Flow, Use Cases Scenarios, Test Plans, Decision Matrix, MoSCoW, Project Charters and RFPs.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the full cycle of gathering, evaluating, documenting, and validating.
  • Identify gaps that exist between departments’ workflows and non-integrated systems.
  • Assist business owners and technical partners in implementing solutions and integrating systems that have been identified through BSA duties.

Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Manage and report on project budgets and drive timelines within organizational constraints.
  • Assist business owners and technical partners in defining projects, assigning work across teams, implementing project solutions, and integrating systems that have been identified.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all teams and stakeholders, including Food Bank management and contractors, to help projects to move forward as planned, obtain timely approvals, and conclude successfully.
  • Regularly gather feedback from stakeholders and ensure prompt reflection and response from project teams.
  • Create processes and procedures for IT project management. Maintain and continuously improve processes and procedures for IT project management, tracking and reporting.

 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Required Competencies

  • Five or more years of combined experience of:
    • managing multiple, complex projects simultaneously, including: setting and driving timelines, managing stakeholders across an organization and building consensus in a fast-paced environment and/or
    • developing and documenting business requirements, functional requirements, process and data flow, use cases scenarios, test plans, decision matrices, project charters and RFP’s.
  • Experience selecting and deploying enterprise systems, such as ERP, CRM, Data Warehouse, Call Center Applications and Helpdesk systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet deliverables, while managing collaboration with business owners towards commonly identified goals.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience, translating and adapting presentations to promote understanding.
  • Basic understanding of database theory, programming logic, business procedures, and project management theory.
  • Ability to work and interact well with individuals (staff, volunteers and participants) from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative and professional relationships.
  • Experience successfully motivating and managing project teams as well as leading and developing resources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Smartsheets and Lucid Chart.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative and professional relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years in Information Systems; experience in food banking, food industry, inventory management and/or warehouse workflow environments a plus.
  • Working knowledge of project management standards, methodology and best practices. PMP training and/or certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/BC365 ERP
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM ecosystem and related third party applications.
  • Strong customer service acumen.
  • Solid analytic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in a nonprofit environment with a variety of stakeholders and deeply rooted community values.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This work is located in an office environment. Physical activities necessary in the performance of this job include the abilities to: sit at a computer workstation for up to five hours at a time; operate computer and phone equipment; and move throughout the 118,000 sq. ft. food bank facility in performance of duties.

 

Compensation

This is a full-time, exempt position working Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (37.5 hours per week, one-hour unpaid lunch). The non-negotiable starting salary for this position is $108,400 annually. Scroll down for benefits information.
