If you said yes to any of these questions, the Alameda County Community Food Bank could be looking for you as our next Community Engagement Center Warehouse Coordinator!

This position is the bridge between our warehouse team and the 20,000 unique volunteers who come through our doors each year to help us prepare food for distribution to the community. The Community Engagement Center Warehouse Coordinator is responsible for stocking the volunteer area of the warehouse for daily activities and helping to ensure that our volunteers have the resources they need to meet daily production objectives. This includes collaborating with warehouse and volunteer staff to set up volunteer activities such as produce sorting, food kit assembly, and repacking, manage the weighing and logging of incoming food drive donations, and determine the staffing required for each activity. This role requires a high standard of customer service and the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and volunteers. In addition, the CEC Warehouse Coordinator will perform general warehouse duties including moving inventory for shipping and receiving, maintaining safety and cleanliness standards, and general facilities and equipment maintenance.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Prior experience in a warehouse environment working with material handling equipment (e.g. forklifts and pallet jacks) required. Current Forklift Certification preferred.
  • Interest in and commitment to the mission of the Food Bank.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, ability to lead and manage volunteer teams and build strong relationships with staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally — including comfort speaking in front of groups of various sizes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds; this includes many forms of diversity such as socio-economic, cultural, educational, organizational, ethnic, developmental.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple, simultaneous assignments within a changing work environment.
  • Ability to perform duties in accordance with the Food Bank’s Safety and Injury Prevention Program. Knowledge of food safety standards preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, as well as basic mechanical, mathematical and writing skills.
  • Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License with an insurable driving record.
  • Available to work Saturday’s and occasional evenings (special events).

 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 Lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended period of time.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment where temperatures range from -2 to 90+ degrees.
  • Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel and reach above your shoulders.

 Compensation and Benefits

 This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The starting hourly wage is $21.83 per hour ($42,568.50 per year). We offer an outstanding benefit package including:
